Ship, grind and press – ceramics in the making

Panalpina Energy and Project Solutions executed another #MajorMove with two port-to-door shipments for one of Brazil’s leading ceramics makers. The move included ocean and overland transportation of an industrial mill and a hydraulic press from Genoa, Italy, to Paranaguá, one of the main gateways in southern Brazil, as well as the installation of both machines in Tijucas, Santa Catarina.

Last week, Lloyd’s Loading List reported on Panalpina’s pioneering Logistics Manufacturing Services (LMS). Panalpina first introduced LMS for the telecoms industry in Brazil in 2014 and soon afterwards expanded the offering to Panama and Dubai where a new state-of-the-art facility was officially opened in March 2017.

There is no good word for “Zukunftsmacher” in English. “Zukunft” means future and a “Macher” is a doer, a maker. Put the two together, and you have someone who is shaping the future, the future of logistics that is: Mike Wilson. Mike, global head of Logistics and Manufacturing at Panalpina, was presented with the prestigious LEO Award by German trade publication DVZ on Friday evening in Hamburg.
Brazil Wings celebrates successful first year

With the Brazil Wings service, Panalpina offers scheduled main deck capacity to South America from the U.S. The many benefits of this and many other services will again be presented at Intermodal South America. Since Brazil Wings launched in 2015, customers have mostly used it for high-tech products, heavy machines and equipment for agriculture, chemicals as well as aerospace and consumer goods.
Brazil receives exceptionally large, urgent pharmaceutical shipment

Panalpina recently delivered an exceptionally large shipment of pharmaceutical products to Brazil. A cargo plane took off from Frankfurt airport carrying 187 pallets of temperature-sensitive cargo, destined for Brasília International Airport. The shipment was an urgent order from the Brazilian Ministry of Health.
